Kookaburra Kindness

Kookaburra Kindness – A Book for Healing after the Bondi Tragedy

Authors: Naba and Aayah

Language: English

About the Book:

Following the Bondi Massacre, many children across Australia have been left with questions that feel impossible to answer: Why did this happen? Am I safe? Do I belong?

Kookaburra Kindness is a book to help young people feel safe in their world again by nurturing empathy, connection and social cohesion. Written specifically for use by parents, schools and community settings, the book offers a way to help children process fear, understand difference, and reconnect with the goodness around them.

Written by Naba and her 4 year old daughter Aayah whose illustrations are featured throughout, the book helps to support children to feel some control over their emotional world, to trust caregivers and community, and to understand that reaching out to people who are different is how societies heal.
